Privacy Policy

Aheadly ("we", "our", "the app") is a family scheduling assistant. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive and store your:

• Name, email address, provider account identifier, and, when Google supplies it, profile picture
• Google OAuth tokens, if you connect Google Calendar (used only to read your calendar on your behalf)

Profile Information You Provide

• Verified phone number and consent record: optional, used to send daily plan text messages and record when you opted in or out
• Daily text and quiet-hours preferences: when you would like to receive your daily plan
• Display color: for identifying you in the household view

Family Profile

You may optionally provide family details to personalize your daily plan:

• Children's first names, ages, birthdays, and school schedules
• Partner names and birthdays
• Daily routine times (school, dinner, bath, bedtime)
• Home address (used for travel time and weather estimates)
• Custom AI planning instructions

Calendar Events

With your permission, we read events from Google Calendar or device calendars you select to build your daily plan. Aheadly requests read access and does not create, edit, or delete calendar events. Calendar events are retrieved as needed and device-calendar events are sent to Aheadly's server when you request a plan. A generated plan may be stored temporarily in a server-side cache and can include event titles, times, and logistics derived from those events.

Usage Data

• Task completions, claims, and dismissals within your household
• Feedback on plan suggestions (helpful / not helpful)
• Coarse setup milestones, such as when a calendar was first verified, whether it was empty at that check, when a family profile was saved, and when a first live or useful plan or task action occurred

Setup milestones contain timestamps and limited status values only. They do not contain event titles, calendar identifiers, family-profile details, page-view history, IP addresses, or referral data. We do not use third-party analytics services, track your browsing behavior, or use advertising cookies.

Billing Information

If a household admin chooses a paid plan, Stripe collects payment details directly through its hosted checkout. Aheadly does not receive or store full card or bank-account numbers. We receive and store the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, selected plan, subscription status, renewal or access-end date, and payment-success or payment-failure status needed to provide and manage household access.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Generate your daily plan: combining calendar events, family routines, weather, and travel estimates
• Send SMS notifications: your daily plan text, only after you explicitly opt in and verify your phone number
• AI-powered suggestions: if enabled, your plan and family profile are sent to OpenAI to generate personalized tips and tasks
• Household coordination: sharing plans and task status with members of your household
• Guide product setup: showing private, resumable setup progress and understanding whether core features work for a household
• Manage paid household access: starting, renewing, canceling, and recovering a subscription selected by a household admin

4. Data Storage & Security

• Your account, household, family profile, task state, coarse setup milestones, generated-plan cache, and household subscription status are stored in Google Cloud Firestore.
• Full payment credentials are handled by Stripe and are not stored in Aheadly's database.
• Session tokens are stored in browser or app-local storage and expire after 30 days.
• Google OAuth tokens are stored server-side and refreshed automatically.
• Access to household data is limited to authenticated members of that household.
• SMS delivery ledgers contain a user identifier, local delivery date, status, and provider message identifier, but not the message body. They are deleted after 35 days by default.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. SMS Messaging

Daily texts are optional. Aheadly asks you to check a separate consent box and verify your phone number before enabling them. If you opt in, you agree to receive up to one automated daily plan text from Aheadly at that number. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to any Aheadly text or use “Turn off daily texts” in your profile to withdraw consent. We retain the phone verification, consent, and withdrawal record until account deletion so we can honor and document your choice.

6. Your Choices

• Phone number & SMS: optional; reply STOP or use “Turn off daily texts” in your profile at any time
• Google Calendar: use “Disconnect” under Connected accounts in your profile to delete Aheadly's stored Google credentials and stop calendar access immediately. Aheadly also attempts to revoke the credential with Google.
• Device calendars: choose which calendars Aheadly reads in Calendar Sources, or revoke calendar access in your device settings
• AI suggestions: Aheadly only sends plan context to OpenAI when AI planning is enabled for the service. A per-household AI switch is not currently available.
• Family profile: optional; the app works with calendar events alone
• Account deletion: use “Delete my account” in your profile to permanently delete your account, provider credentials, sessions, phone and SMS settings. Shared household activity is anonymized. If you are the only household member, the household and its Aheadly data are deleted. An active paid household subscription must first be ended in Billing so it is not orphaned.

7. Children's Privacy

Aheadly is designed for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Family profile data about children (first names, ages, school schedules) is entered by a parent or guardian and used solely to build the household's daily plan.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
